Bring the Conversation to Your Community
Real talk about homelessness with real people who support real change—
right in the spaces where you belong.
Community Conversations on Homelessness bring neighbors together for honest, respectful dialogue about one of our region’s most urgent issues.
We bring the conversation to you.
Bring a trained Conversation Leader to your workplace, neighborhood, faith community, professional network, or any other group you’re a part of. These trusted community members are skilled in fostering open, grounded discussions that help people better understand homelessness in our region.
Through a conversation, you’ll create space to talk openly about what’s working, what’s challenging, and what’s possible.
Why Bring a Conversation to Your Community or Group?
Homelessness is one of the most urgent issues in our region. While there’s important work happening across Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties, progress is often behind the scenes and difficult to track. Community Conversations on Homelessness will help bridge the gap between public understanding and the real impacts of the Supportive Housing Services (SHS) program.
By bringing an event to your network, you’ll:
- Learn how the SHS program is working and what reform is needed.
- Hear real stories of progress and challenges from trusted community members.
- Connect with neighbors who share your concerns and hopes.
- Leave with a clearer picture of what’s really happening and how you can be part of the solutions.
No expertise required, just curiosity, care, and openness.
Book your conversation for the new year
New year, new conversations. We’re now scheduling Community Conversations for early 2026, and spots are filling quickly. If your group has been meaning to talk about homelessness in a real, respectful way, now’s a great time to claim your spot.
What to Expect
Language and insights to talk about it with others. These conversations are perfect for any group that wants to better understand homelessness and what we can do together—from informal gatherings to formal organizations.
Every welcoming, small-group conversation is rooted in respect, honesty, and two-way dialogue—not lectures. Each conversation begins with a presentation with helpful facts, data, and stories, and includes opportunities to share thoughts and ask questions.
Your group will experience:
✅ A more accurate understanding of homelessness and what’s being done.
✅ Language and insights to talk about it with others.
✅ A deeper connection to your community—and the chance to take meaningful action if you choose.
✅ Time to reflect, ask questions, and hear others’ perspectives.
✅ Opportunities to share your thoughts or just listen and learn.
Our trained facilitators are here to guide—not preach—so your group will feel heard and supported throughout the conversation.
Conversations last 60–90 minutes.

Why These Conversations Matter
Too often, discussions about homelessness happen without the people most affected—those experiencing it, those working to solve it, and everyday community members like you.
Real change starts with understanding and trust. When neighbors come together to share, listen, and learn, we build lasting support for local, effective solutions.
